Construction on the new Cayuga Library & Heritage Centre at 19 Talbot St. W is complete and the facility is now open to the public!
Cayuga Library & Heritage Centre
Construction on the new 6,455 square foot library and heritage centre in the heart of Cayuga’s downtown core began in June 2018. The new, fully accessible building accommodates both library and museum collections/services/programs, providing visitors with an extremely unique learning and cultural experience.
The museum space encompasses 1,400 sq. ft., with 800 sq. ft. dedicated to an exhibit & display area and 600 sq. ft. designated for local history and genealogical research. Hard copy genealogical records & information is available within the designated genealogy space, as are new technologies that assist with research. Heritage programming will be offered year-round for both adults and children.
Valued library services and spaces – including book borrowing, workshops, public access computers and meeting rooms – are also available and improved in the new state-of-the-art building. Educational programming, including storytimes, author talks, guest lectures and themed workshops will be offered onsite by both museum and library staff in a new, multi-purpose community room.
The new Cayuga Library & Heritage Centre will be located at 19 Talbot St. W, and hours of operation have been extended at the new facility! Regular hours will be as follows:
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday: 10:00 am to 8:00 pm.
