Police Services

Police Services consists of several components that work together to provide Haldimand County residents with a safe and comfortable community. The following groups work together to ensure the safety of Haldimand County and its residents:

  • Ontario Provincial Police
    Policing in Haldimand County has been contracted out to the Ontario Provincial Police. The OPP carries out the formal policing in Haldimand County as per a five-year contract with the Province.
  • Haldimand County Police Services Board
    Municipal policing services are required by provincial legislation to be governed by a Police Services Board. The board local objectives and priorities for police after consultation with Detachment Commander.
  • Community Policing Committees
    Volunteers in the community help promote public safety and crime prevention by focusing on the specific needs of an area and by providing programming to address those needs.

Report a By-law Infraction

During Haldimand County business hours, complaints and inquiries can be made by telephone to Bylaw Enforcement staff at (905) 318-5932, online or in person at Haldimand County Administration Building. After office hours, complaints regarding noise, parking, open-air burning, and discharge of firearms can be made by contacting the OPP at 1 (888) 310-1122.
