About Grandview Lodge
Grandview Lodge has been a long-term care home since 1910. In 2006, our home was rebuilt and now facilitates 128 beds within four separate home units with individual garden areas, as well as our large Centennial Garden complex which is located at the core of our home. We have earned accreditation through Accreditation Canada which was awarded for meeting national standards of excellence in quality care and services.
Grandview Lodge is operated by Haldimand County and provides 24-hour long-term care to a diverse population ranging in age from 18 to over 100 years. Through a partnership of contracted professionals and a committed and caring team of management and staff, Grandview Lodge provides high-quality services while remaining fiscally responsible. One of the four 32 bed home units is the DementiAbility Care Unit (Creekview) where our team works with Residents diagnosed with Dementia/Alzheimer’s and practices Montessori concepts.
Montessori Philosophy
Grandview Lodge moved from the medical model of care to that of a social model of care in 2011. By utilizing the principles of Montessori for Dementia, coupled with GPA (Gentle Persuasive Approach) training, we have truly transformed the way we provide care to our Residents. Implementing specific programs and integrating daily routines in our adapted environment has given a life of meaning and purpose to those living with dementia.
As a leader in dementia care, staff provide tours and education to a variety of organizations, including other long-term care homes, family councils of Ontario and local colleges.
