An Official Plan is a municipal policy document adopted under the Planning Act.  As required by the Planning Act, and Official Plan contains goals, objectives and policies to manage and direct change and its effects on the social, economic and natural environment of the municipality.  The Haldimand County Official Plan incorporates land use information that will guide and direct planning and development within Haldimand County.

Haldimand County’s Official Plan is currently undergoing an update in order to conform to Provincial legislation and to appropriately manage municipal needs. The Official Plan Update will guide growth and development over the next 25 years – to 2046.
